พระราชดำรัสในโอกาสวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา
ณ ศาลาดุสิดาลัย สวนจิตรลดา พระราชวังดุสิตฯ
วันเสาร์ ที่ ๔ ธันวาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๖

"...คนก็เหมือนกัน ถ้าหากว่าคนหนึ่งมีหน้าที่ที่จะต้องทำอย่างไร ไม่ได้หมายความว่าทุกคนมีหน้าที่เหมือนกัน

แต่ก็ต้องสอดคล้องกันเพื่อให้งานส่วนรวมนั้นดำเนินไป ถ้าอยู่ในหมู่คณะเดียวกัน ก็จะต้องสอดคล้องกันให้งาน

นั้นมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด เท่าที่จะเป็นไปได้ แต่ถ้าหากว่า มาทะเลาะกันมาเถียงกันโดยหลักหรือพื้นความคิด

แตกต่างกัน ก็คุยกันไม่ได้ พูดกันไม่ได้ อย่ามาพูดกันดีกว่าเพราะว่าถ้าทัศนะของ คนอย่างหนึ่ง และทัศนะของ

อีกคนอีกอย่างหนึ่ง โดยที่ไม่พยายามปรองดอง โดยที่ไม่พยายามปรองดอง ไม่พยายามหาทางออกที่เหมาะสม

มาพูดยิ่งพูดยิ่งยุ่ง ยิ่งทำให้คนที่ไม่รู้อิโหน่อิเหน่ดูแล้วเสียขวัญ มันเข้ากันไม่ได้ มันคนละเรื่อง ..."

exactly the same duty; but all have to perform their duty in correct, so that the work at large

will be well conducted. If individuals are in the same group, they must cooperate, so that work

will be done with the greatest possible efficiency. However, if there are quarrels, if there are

differences in principles, basic ideas, or ways of thinking, there can be no conversation, no

discussion. Talking is of no use, if one individual has one viewpoint and the other holds an

entirely different one, with no attempt to conciliate, or make any effort to find a suitable

medium. The more one talks, the more inextricable it will be, resulting in the demoralization of

hapless and innocent onlookers..."
